Fresh Faces and Fresh Ideas Create Fresh Challenges for Net-Flow

At just 24 years old, Lucas Dexter had a picture in his mind of the kind of attention people pay to their memories and the art they create. It’s the same kind of attention Dexter knew he needed to pay to his customers if he wanted to run a successful business.

One thing about photographic memories, we all want to remember them the way we want to and sometimes it takes a little bit of manipulation to make that happen. When it comes to creating art, sometimes nature needs a little nudge. Since those photo-manipulation programs can be tricky to learn and even harder to master, Dexter saw a problem for the average Joe with picture issues, had the genius to create a solution, and decided to help out.

In operation since 2005, ZeroFlaws has quickly become the premiere photo editing resource on the Internet. Anyone with a photograph that needs some fixing can go to the ZeroFlaws Web site and get expert help to create expert works of art.

A Picture Says a Thousand Words but Sometimes Requires a Thousand Changes

Dexter wanted to offer his customers an easy and inexpensive way to upload pictures and send them off for professional editing. He then needed a way for editors anywhere and everywhere to log in and help out these folks with flaws in their photos. Through a friend who used to work for Net-Flow, Dexter found a way to satisfy both of those needs.

“I came to Net-Flow to help me create a digitally distributed labor force,” said Dexter, ZeroFlaws Founder. “They basically used their existing tools and ‘backbone’ of their NOW services and custom-made a database for me, where I could control incoming work of digital photographs and distribute them to a digital network of editors.”

Bringing the World Together One Photograph at a Time and One Business at a Time

Dexter has 200 editors nationwide who log in from their home computers, review requests for photo manipulation, and edit the photos. After customers approve the edits, they pay for the editing and each transaction nets ZeroFlaws a percentage.

Just as each photograph requires specialized attention, ZeroFlaws is just one of Net-Flow’s clients requiring that kind of diligence as well. Zero-Flaws got to some manipulation of its own with the help of Net-Flow, to create a program that was both easy for customers with photographs to use and expert enough for editors to do their artwork.

“We piggy back on Net-Flow’s NOW product. It was a lot easier than having to develop all the technology ourselves from scratch,” added Dexter. “The actual order system and structure was something they had developed over 25 years, but they customize it for you, so it’s tailor made for us to handle different orders and distribution to different people.”

Dexter is thankful for the specialized service Net-Flow provides as he continues to create new systems for his business and customers. “We know it’s something they put personal attention into to fulfill the vision we have. It’s always a changing animal and they’re always right there with the time to help us continue development on the site. We feel like we’re important to them and that’s very important to us.”
