Net-Flow Helps Desperado Wrangle up its Own Version of NOW

Ian Malcolm is not a web guy and he’ll say so without hesitation. However, he is the owner of a successful sponsorship and event marketing company with offices in Toronto, Canada and Chicago, Illinois.

Instead of taking time away from doing what they do best to learn about internet technology, instead of spending money on hiring a full-time IT employee – who would not have enough work to stay busy eight hours each day – Malcolm’s team uses the expertise at Net-Flow through their own version of the NOW Internet productivity tools.

After meeting Dean Bowen at a Toronto workshop in 2007, life got a little easier for Desperado and its clients. Net-Flow worked closely with Malcolm’s team to manipulate the NOW suite of tools to create a sponsorship proposal management tool.

“We couldn’t find anyone else we thought would be good to work with,” said Ian Malcom, Owner of Desperado Marketing. “I knew Dean, and Net-Flow is an entrepreneurial-based business, so I thought we’d have better synergy in working together.”

That synergy, between Net-Flow’s team of Web system experts and Desperado’s sponsorship expertise, resulted in a specialized program that is customized for each of Desperado’s clients.

It’s All in the Attitude

The challenge for Desperado began when different sponsorship clients had different needs in the way they managed their sponsorship campaigns and events. One client needed a carbon footprint calendar and an internet kiosk. Desperado got to work with Net-Flow’s team to help them understand the ratios and develop this specialized program for Desperado’s client.

“They are more flexible than most Web types we talked to who didn’t understand the business needs. It may sound trite and corny, but because of their ‘can do’ attitude, they saw solutions where others saw problems,” added Malcolm. “We appreciate the model of them saying ‘what do you want to get to?’ not just what we want it to do for us. These guys are partnership-minded and want to understand their role in the bigger picture. It’s about adding value for them, not just completing a task.”

Net-Flow’s role in Desperado’s bigger picture continues to grow as Desperado brings on new clients with new and different Internet productivity needs. The two teams work hand in hand to create better-managed success for Desperado and its clients.
